Obituary of Fred K. Barrett, Sr.

Fred Barrett, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the age of 91.  Beloved husband of the late Stephanie (Michalowski).  Loving father of Fred and his wife Mary and his late daughter Susan. Cherished grandfather of Benjamin and Elizabeth. Devoted brother of the late Michael, Regina, Mary, Barbara and Martha. 

Fred was a World War II veteran. He was a dedicated member of the Carpenters Union; he was also an avid woodworker and member of the Long Island Woodworkers, and particularly enjoyed making guitars. He participated in the building of many properties throughout Long Island, as well as creating fine crafts large and small for his family and friends. We will remember his wonderful stories, his extraordinary garden, his impressive carpentry and his willingness to help others with his gifts and time. He is loved and will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
