Ebert, Joan S., 77, of Huntington, on April 7, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Dan. Loving mother of David S. (Deana), Katherine D.E. Baldanza, and Michael W. (Andie). Cherished grandmother of Dan, Nick, Olivia, Will, Grace, and Penny. Dear sister of Peter Stuckart (Sharon), Michael Stuckart (Sandee), Mark Stuckart (Aiman), and Hilary Van Ness (David). During her long career at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, countless book projects and symposium conventions benefited from her careful guidance and exacting standards; she whipped Nobel Prize-winning scientists the world over into delivering their manuscripts on time. Visitation at M.A. Connell Funeral Home on Monday, April 9, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church in Huntington on Tuesday, April 10, at 9:45 AM. Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org) or to the charity of your choice. Her warm spirit, kind heart, sharp wit, and wise counsel will be sorely missed.
