Wynne was my beloved father. He and my mother Lucia made a life together raising me and my two brothers Paul and Harold. His legacy will live on as the next generation goes forward. His Greatgrandchildren, Emily, Lauren, and Caitlin Hedges, my son, David and his wife Susan Hedges children are a wondrous delight and are filling the world with new possibilities. We thank God for His Blessings, and Grace with the passing of my dear daddy to his eternal heavenly home. My heart is aching because I am not able to be together with all of the family and friends gathered to celebrate and remember dad. I am with you in loving spirit. Donna

THis man lived a most wonderful life, filled with adventure, creative accomplishment, bringing an incredible joy to so many areas of work, hobbies, friendships, fatherhood, grandfatherhood, and spouse to the amazing woman he married, Lucia Boornazian Trenholme. Spanning more than a century, he was born during the "Guns of August", the start of WWI, when Archduke Ferdinand was assasinated triggering the "War to End All Wars". He felt a special affinity to the Archduke as his life ended, Wynne's own life began. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, raised in Toronto, schooled at Stevens Institute in the US after which he served in the Merchant Marines before and during WWII. He sailed to many destinations and when he visited in Baltimore he met and married Lucia. Together they raised three children Paul, Donna, and Harold. He was also grandfather to David, Elizabeth, and Anne. Work included contributing to building the Lunar Excursion for Man on the Moon while at Northrop Grumman. He had many friends and lived a wonderful life. Rest Peacefully in God's Arms dear Wynne.

I am sorry to hear of Wynne's passing. Here are my thoughts and memories about he impacted my life...
Wynne was a lifelong friend of mine and second father.
Although it had been several years since I last saw him, we still spoke, from time to time, especially since he turned 100.
He was still sharp as a tack. One of his oldest memories was sitting atop of his father's shoulders while watching a WW I parade.
I first met Wynne when I was five years old. As a kid, and throughout high school, Wynne taught me about electronics, ham radio, the steam cycle on ships, and firearm & motorcycle safety, to name a few things. He always had great stories from the South Pacific during his time with the Merchant Marines in WW II.
Wynne's career highlight, while employed by Grumman, was the work he did on the Apollo Lunar Module program. (The Lunar Module is the spacecraft that landed on the moon, best know for becoming a life raft for the Apollo 13 crew.)
Wynne gave me several astronaut training manuals which I still have. Here's one that I scanned to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing: https://goo.gl/9v8VNo
