Obituary of William Von Vange

William C. VonVange  passed peacefully at home on October 2, 2017 in Huntington NY at the age of 72.

William is survived by his wife, June; children, Justine and her husband Scott, Marlene and her husband Timothy, Allison; his sister Carole and her husband James; grandchildren Kenneth and his wife Skyler, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Delaney, Palmer, McKenna; nieces Catherine, Madeline, Cynthia, and Christine, and Denise. Also, his nephews Eddie and Eugene . He is preceded in death by his father William VonVange; mother Muriel Flood and nephew James Donohue.

William was born on July 14, 1945 in New York, New York to William and Muriel VonVange. He graduated from Forest Hills Highschool in 1962. He married June Mitcheson, in 1966. After moving to Huntington, NY, Bill began working for Con Edison as a Field Engineer. After a while, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals no matter what.

William was accomplished at boating and often could be found working on his model trains. He was a generous, witty, and dedicated individual who loved the Jets and who was passionate about the Yankees .  He was an active and dedicated member of the Elks and often volunteered at the VA Hospital in Northport.

A funeral is scheduled for October 4, 2017  at St. Patrick’s Church, with a reception to follow at Huntington Boating Club. Father Michael will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Williams's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Lustgarten or Hospice of Northport .
