I loved Father Joe and regret I did not write to him when he left St. Hugh's. He was very open as a person, which I admired, and very helpful when I approached him about working to begin a Lighthouse Media CD ministry program among groups within the parish. He had a positive attitude about it and about God's being in charge....be there happiness or unhappiness, with some things being more difficult to accept than others. I pray his final time on earth was filled with the joy and peacefulness his words, whether preaching or otherwise, always brought to me.

I will miss my friend terribly. I met Joe in the summer of 1972 at St. Vincent Ferrer church in Brooklyn, NY when he was in the seminary. He came to my church along with Ralph Cursio to run a youth summer program. We instantly became friends which turned into a 45 year friendship. I was honored when he invited us to his Deaconate, he then asked myself and another friend to play Purcells Trumpet Voluntary at his first mass. We danced at his 25th anniversary. A lifetime of memories. Rest in peace my friend, I know we will see each other again. Until then, I will smile when I think of your love, your kindness and mostly your sense of humor and of all we've been through these last 45 years. I Love you ----

I'm so sorry for the great loss of your dear Joseph. Words cannot express the pain we feel when we lose those we love. Please take comfort in knowing that God Almighty, Jehovah, has promised to not only resurrect your loved one, but comfort you through all your distress if you rely completely on him (John 5:28,29 and Isaiah 41:10). Try to focus on the good memories and allow your family and friends to help you through this difficult time. Remember, it is impossible for God to lie (Heb. 6:18), what he has promised will happen. Please feel to contact me if you'd like to learn more about what God promises to do in the future.
