To John and Family:
So sorry to hear about Betty. She was a great spirit and good human being! The SHS staff and the students loved her. I have included a Ralph Waldo Emerson
piece that sums up my feelings:
To Laugh often & much;
to win the respect of intelligent
people and the attention of
children; to earn the
appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of
false friends; to appreciate
beauty; to find the best in
others; to leave the world
a bit better, whether by a
healthy child, a garden patch,
a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has
breathed easier because you have
lived. This is to have Succeeded.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
May God bless her,
Sincerely,
Marie Archibee (Smiley)

So sorry for your loss, I wanted to share a FB group called "Syosset Senior High School Friends" There is a post about the passing of Mrs. T. and there are a bunch of great messages from former students. Try to get on Facebook and see them all. She was loved and a real role model to many, a fantastic teacher! God Bless.

Dear Titterton Family:
My deepest condolences to you on the passing of Mrs. Titterton. I graduated Syosset HS in 1982 and though never had Mrs. 'T' as a teacher, she was always warm and kind-hearted to me and my fellow classmates. More importantly, she kept Mr. T in check!! Mr. T was my favorite teacher, and always brought out the best in me, but could be abrasive at times. He had a different persona around his wife - he never jabbed at me when they were together!!
I hope the happy memories you have of her will provide some solace in the days and months ahead. Her wonderful legacy - both through her students and family - will live on.
Best,
Cliff Wasser

So very sorry to hear this news. Mrs. T and Mr. T were both literally my favorite teachers in high school. I graduated in 1981 and was fortunate enough to have Mrs T for science (AP Bio I believe) and Mr. T for some crazy advanced number theory, plus of course T Football. What lovely, lovely people. Absolutely superb teachers, that deeply cared for their students. Their mark is deep and grand changing thousands of lives along the way.
My condolences to the family. How lucky you were to have such a wonderful woman in your lives.

I graduated from Syosset in 1988 and had both Mr. and Mrs. T has my teachers. I went on to get my Mechanical Engineering degree from Union College and today my daughter is there working on her ME degree. My love of science came from such great teachers and it will live on for generations to come. So sorry to hear the news, but it put a smile on my fact remembering what a wonderful teacher and person she was. My condolences to the entire family. I unfortunately lost my dad to Pancreatic cancer in October, so I know your pain all too well. I hope the family can now be at peace.

I never had the good fortune to have Mrs. T as a teacher, but the SHS community always regarded her husband Mr. T and she as more than teachers. They were instrumental in so many lives, in so many ways. God bless.
