Donovan, Joseph A., 93, of Amityville and formerly of Valley Stream, on December 31, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Virginia. Loving father of Patricia(Leonard) Urban and Susan(Joseph)Volpe. Cherished grandfather of Julia, Diane and John Urban and Michael and Christopher Volpe. Great-grandfather of Christopher and Jaxon Volpe.
Joe served in the Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate First Class during World War II in France, Guam and Okinawa. He was active in his Church and Volunteered with the Valley Stream Civilian Patrol. He worked as a chemist and manager for Pfizer for 43 years.
Visitation M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Mass Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Centerport, Friday, 10:00 A.M. Interment Cemetery of the Holy Rood.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Relief Services.
