Kevin James McCready, born 10/14/47, passed away on December 28th, 2015. Kevin, known to everyone as Jim, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He was also a former detective in the Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad, Shield #563. Over his career, he received many prestigious commendations, including the Silver Shield Award, Medal of Valor and Combat Medal. A former resident of Huntington, New York, Jim moved to Little River, SC twenty years ago and was an avid golfer and member of both Rolling Thunder and the Blue Knights. Survivors include his wife Terry, son Brett, daughter-in-law Keri, granddaughter Finley, brother Tom, and sisters Margaret and Eileen. Visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Funeral Mass Monday 9:30 AM at St. Hugh’s Church, Huntington Station.
