Words are not easy to come by, I can only offer my deepest sympathy, love and support to Ellen and all of yours and Jane's family now and always. Knowing she was ready and at peace gives solace. Knowing she will always be near you, watching you and in your hearts will hopefully ease some of the sadness. May all your cherished memories stay forever close at hand and keep you smiling when you think of her.

The Field Hockey community has lost one of our finest. Jane always gave her best to her athletes and our sport. The ultimate teacher, coach and friend! If there is a field hockey or lacrosse pitch in heaven---- she's still teaching and coaching. Thank you Ellen and family for sharing such a wonderful person with us.

From the mound to the plate you always crossed the plate. Now you have crossed the plate and made it home safe once again. I will catch for you anytime, until we meet again my friend..

It was a privilege to watch Jane mature as a person and an athlete at OU. Jane lettered four years in field hockey and was a three-year letter winner in lacrosse before Ohio University dropped the sport in 1982. She led the field hockey team to MAC titles in 1981 and 1982 and won the Team Player Award her final three seasons. Jane led the nation in scoring in lacrosse in 1981 (AIAW) and was selected a regional All-American her last three seasons. I'm glad I have the memories of her to cherish. Heaven is richer for her presence. So was Earth. 'Till we meet again.

An Irish Funeral Prayer
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.
