Obituary of Dianne June Spardel

SPARDEL, Dianne J. (nee Weber), 68, of Huntington, NY on March 30, 2012. Born June 17, 1943 in Bayside, NY. Devoted wife of Walter for 47 years. Beloved mother of Susan and Christopher Nolan and Walter and Lisa Spardel. Beloved daughter of Margaret Weber. Cherished grandmother of 7. Dear sister of Bruce Weber. Graduate of Queens College majoring in Foreign Languages. Taught high school foreign language in Bronx and Brooklyn. She was a recipient of the Pan-American Spanish Language Award. An avid golfer for over 40 years with memberships at Nissequogue Golf Club, Crab Meadow Ladies Golf Club, and The Forest County Club in Ft. Myers, FL. Nissequogue Club Ladies Champion 3 times as well as many other championships. She was President of the Crab Meadow Ladies Club. She was a long-time member of the New York Women's Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) as well as on the Board of Directors of the WMGA and the Long Island Course Rating Chairman. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at M.A. Connell Funeral Home at 934 New York Ave., Huntington. Services will Monday, April 2nd at St. John's Church, 1670 Rt. 25A in Cold Spring Harbor at 11:00am.
