Lucy and Bill came to Birchwood Glen in December 2004 just in time to light up the lives of their friends and new neighbors. Lucy lit up our lives that Christmas holiday and all the days when they returned. We all looked forward to our favorite Snowbirds return.
On September 14, 2010 the light dimmed as Lucy left our presence to return to her just rewards in the company of the Lord, the joy of her beloved mother and the others who went before her. Lucy is now in the company of Angels and the brilliant light of the Diamond Star Lucy will shine down on her family for generations to come.
It is no coincidence that on September 14, 2010 it was announced that the “…In the Sky with a Diamond, Star "Lucy" (is) an Astronomy Discovery, Not Just a Beatles Song”. It really is the heavens gift of light returning to earth to touch all the thousands of lives touched by Lucy.
This “…cosmic jewel is about 10 billion trillion carats of brilliance” and is expected to be accompanied by the sun in 5 billion years – when the sun loses it burning capacity it will join Diamond Star Lucy.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds will play on in song and our Diamond Star Lucy will be in the heavens shining down her light on her beloved husband of 50 years Bill her sons Chris, Billy and Bobby, daughter Debbie and beautiful granddaughters.
