Robert L. Hyder
HYDER - Robert L., 91 of Melbourne, Florida and Huntington, New York on May 7, 2010. Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina he was a proud WWII Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps from 1941-1945. Upon discharge from the military he began working at Sears, Roebuck lived in Huntington in 1946 until his retirement in 1981. He served as the division manager of the automotive, hardware, paint and electrical departments. After his retirement he resided in Melbourne, Florida and Huntington. He was "a man of few words, but of limitless good deeds." Beloved husband of Elizabeth for 65 years. Loving father of Thomas. Cherished brother of Georgia Mae Condrey and predeceased by sisters Alice, Dahlonega, and brothers Gaither, Ander, Thomas James, and Guss. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station. Religious service Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Interment Tuesday, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Huntington.
