William F. O'Connor Jr.
O'CONNOR - William F. Jr., of Hungtington on April 18, age 85. Devoted and loving husband of Mildred. Beloved father of Brian, William III, Mary, Patrick, Kerri. Grandfather of Nora, John, Hugh, Katelyn, Jack, Meghan and Sean. William was born and raised in Mamaroneck, NY, honorably served his country in the US Army during World War II in the European theater. A graduate of Virginia Tech, he earned his Master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. He was an English teacher in Great Neck Public Schools for 27 years, where he earned teacher of the year honors and volunteered as a little league coach in the St. Patrick's Youth Sports League for 15 years. Visiting hours onTuesday, 2-4pm and 7-9pm, MA Connell Funeral Home, Huntington Station, NY. Funeral Mass, Wednesday 9:45 at St. Patrick's Church, Huntington, NY. Burialto follow at St. Patrick'scemetery in Huntington.
