ROGERS - Joseph Francis, on October 29, 2014 in his 95th year, formerly of Commack and Rosedale, NY. Member of the Greatest Generation, he served during WWII in the Navy. Retired from the Brooklyn Navy Yard after 25 years and became a teacher in NYC. Predeceased by his beloved wife Bernida "Bee". Son of the late James Augustus and Marguerite Rogers. Devoted father of James, Mary Nummelin (Kari), John (Stephanie), Ann and the late Joseph. Dearest brother of Eleanor Shaw, Clare, and the late James. Adored grandfather of Caitlin, Sean, Kelly, Jack and Dylan. Friends will be received at the M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.Funeral Mass on Monday 10am at Christ the King Church, Commack. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to: L.I. State Veterans Home, 100 Patriots Road, Stony Brook, NY 11790 in Joseph's name would be greatly appreciated.
