He was the most honest and unpretentious man I ever met. He was well respected by his colleagues and friends. Bob loved, enjoyed and respected his work as an Information Technologies Director at Time Warner. Bob thrived on challenges, technologic equipment, computers, software, peripherals, gizmos and gadgets. I used to tease him that he loved his Laptop more than me, which became a private joke between us. As a member of Mensa, Bob was extremely intelligent and logical in his thinking. It gave him an incredible edge to simplify complicated problems both at work and at home. Bob had a charming adventurous, wild side too! As a member of the Iron Butts Association and the Polar Bear Association, both motorcycle clubs, Bob road long distance motorcycle rides and rallies. Many of the rallies were to benefit charitable organizations, where he donated monetary funds, gift cards or toys. As a certified Pyro Technician for Grucci Fireworks, Bob fulfilled his life-long fascination for fireworks. He handled them carefully, safely with precision to help put on fantastic fire work shows, both locally in the tri-state area, in Las Vegas and Dubai. He was the only person I know that was certified by Home Land Security to transport explosive material over bridges and in tunnels. One of the most romantic and cherished memories was a flight that took place 24 years ago, we were dating at the time. Bob had recently obtained his license to pilot Piper Cub airplanes. He convinced me to fly with him. It was a beautiful, sunny day we were flying to Montauk and back. Bob as the pilot and I was the passenger. The trip to Montauk was so incredibly beautiful over the ocean. When we turned around to head home we were faced with the most stunning sunset. I remember thinking what a different perspective and view than observing from the ground and not as high as a commercial airliner. The view was breath taking. I felt like we could reach up and touch heaven. It was just Bob and I and God's gift of the most amazing sunset, just for us. I thought "it doesn't get any better than this!" Bob loved his children, two boys, Tyler and Brandon. He took pride in all their accomplishments and was very involved in their lives. He spent time teaching them many things, besides how to grow up to be men. Brandon learned to read using a keyboard, Tyler is a wiz at power tools. They carved Pinewood Derby cars together, worked on Science Projects, discussed how to get around Manhattan using the subways and countless other "Daddy and me" things. It has been said that "it takes two to tango". I couldn't think of another person that I would have wanted to dance through life with then Bob.
