Helen Marie WALLACE WALLACE - Helen Marie, Resident of Wallenpaupack, PA and Brooklyn, NY passed away peacefully at the St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, NY on November 13, 2012. Born Helen Marie O'Hagan in Brooklyn, NY, she would have celebrated her 86th birthday next June. Helen was very proud of her Irish ancestry. She had been a resident of Baldwin, NY from 1952 till 1991 where she raised eight children and enjoyed a wonderful and lively marriage to Thomas J. Wallace. After raising their children, Tom and Helen moved to the Wallenpaupack region of PA where they appreciated the peacefulness of the countryside. Helen loved to sew, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid photographer. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her eight children, Thomas, Steve, Helen (Valdemir), Charlie (Gail), Dennis (Rosemary), Eileen, Michael (Eileen), Sheila (Charles); her siblings, Charles (Carol), Edward and Patricia. Helen also is survived by seventeen (17) grandchildren and many dear family friends. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty four years, Thomas J. Wallace, and her grandson, Tyler Whitman. A wake and viewings will be held on Thursday evening 7-9 PM, and Friday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at M. A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave, Huntington Station, NY. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Saint Patrick's Church, 400 Main Street, Huntington, followed by a Christian burial at the Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Huntington NY. www.maconnellfuneralhome.com
