Mrs. Romanelli might not have remembered the dinner she invited me to in her home one Saturday evening 30 years ago but I constantly recall it when asked about significant moments in my life. She and her brother conspired and encouraged me to go to the University of Notre Dame during that entertaining meal. Her belief in me when I was too young to know which way I was headed was inspiring. I am certain she has touched others as well, she believed in me when I was uncertain of myself. She seemed to see that I could succeed in whatever I dreamt.
I will be forever thankful for her generosity. - Nicole Remily (classmate of Anne and John)

I have had the fortune of knowing Alice and her loving family. She was the mother of my best friend from high school (Anne). I'll never forget when she asked me at age 17 to accompany Anne to Washington DC on Amtrak for a full day of sightseeing. She told me, "You have good sense and know how to navigate new terrain with confidence." So much, that she would only trust me to go with Anne. I told her, I had only been on the LIRR once before, and never on Amtrak. After hearing my lack of experience, she still insisted I was a trusted escort due to some talent she saw in me. She always seemed to find some wonderful talent in me, I never knew I had. As a result, I never wanted to let her down, and still strive, to this day, to be the best I can be, because of Alice. She loved me too. but it was really her, who taught me so much about love for the past 40 years. I will miss her dearly. My deepest condolences to your entire family. Love, Jackie and Jim
