Obituary of Fredric Fetkowitz

On November 22 Fredric Fetkowitz of Huntington Station, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.  Fred is survived by his loving wife Edna(McCarthy) and his cherished children Nadine and Paul (Christine).  Fred’s warmth and wisdom extended to his 7 adoring grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Born on January 26, 1937 Fredric’s early years were spent in Brooklyn before moving to Long Island. It was at the Shore Theatre in Huntington in 1956 where he was introduced to Edna from Huntington Station and the two were married in 1960.

After obtaining an Associates Degree at SUNY Farmingdale and leaving the Army he began work as an engineer at several technology firms on Long Island before becoming President of Rotronic Instrument Corporation USA where he later retired.  Ever the workaholic, Fred continued to work with the family business until he officially retired in 2015 at the age of 75. Fred was an avid NY sports fan and a member of the Huntington Crescent Club for 26 years where he won a senior golf club championship. Fred was also a dedicated member and church reader of St. Andrews Orthodox Church.

Fred leaves behind a profound legacy of strength, kindness, friendship, and enduring love of his family and those who knew him.  He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all.
