Margaret (Sister) Lee Jamison, wife of the late, Leon Wade Jamison, daughter of the Late John C. Bailey, Sr. and Margaret M. Bailey, departed this life on September 14, 2017, peacefully at home with her family.

Margaret gave her life to the LORD at an early age at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church Often, Margaret, would speak fondly of the time when she was a part of the Church Choir. Memories, which were so precious to her.

At the age of 21 she met and married the love of her life, Leon Wade Jamison, Sr. Out of this very special union came Michael, Leanora, Leon, Wes, and Alexander.

Margaret's working career began at the Huntington Hat Factory (HHF), which opened the doors to a fashioned industry that was poised to embrace her elegance, uniqueness, and both inner and outer beauty. During her tenure with HHF, Margaret, was pursued by designers both in New York and Europe. Additionally, she worked in the entertainment industry, where she held various positions. She was employed as a hostess at Singleton's Restaurant in Harlem, NY.

Margaret, also lovingly known to her professional friends as "Cookie" would attests, that with all of her professional success and accolades; none could compare to the opportunities that she was afforded to work with her father and other family members, and then much later, with her daughter, Leanora, in the Tax Service business. Margaret will later retire into a life of caring for family, traveling, and pouring into the lives of her family, friends, and even some strangers.

Margaret, was blessed with many talents, she loved to sing and travel and cook. She was a master interior decorator whose talent was sought after by family, friends, and small  businesses. She was a consummate artist, clothing, designer-she even designed her own wedding and bridal party gowns. One could not have ever met a more dynamic, generous, caring, and kind soul. Her home was opened to many, for she loved entertaining, but more importantly, she loved to provide a safe and warm environment to those who needed extra love and attention.

Margaret loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, Godchildren, and being a big sister, even to her cousins. Most of all, she loved the LORD her God, fiercely.

Margaret, was preceded in death by both her parents, John C. and Margaret M. Bailey, Sr., her loving husband Leon Wade Jamison, her brothers Donald Bailey, John C. Bailey, Jr., David Bailey, Sr., Robert (Bobby) Bailey, James Bailey, Keith Bailey Sr., and her sister, Alice Bailey.

She leaves to mourn her children Michael W. Jamison (Kim) of Detroit, MI, Leanora K. Jamison, Leon W. Jamison, Wes L. Jamison (Samantha), and Alexander L. Jamison; Grandchildren, Wes Jamison, Sterlin Jamison, Tye Jamison, Corey Jamison, and Maya Jamison of Detroit, MI: Great-grandchildren Alynna Jamison and Aliya Jamison; Godchildren; Piindamon Bailey-Brown and Michele Nesbitt-Johnson. Her siblings, The Reverend Dr. Edward Bailey (Lee) of Lancaster, PA, Theodore R. Bailey (Diane) of Scarsdale, NY, Kevin D. Bailey (Liz) of Bay Shore, NY; and her sisters, Constance D. Bailey, MaryAlice A. Bailey of Brooklyn, NY, Cornelia M. Bynum of Hagersown, MD and Reverend Phoebe M. Bailey Whitcomb (Rev. Geoffrey) of Kauffman, TX, and Frankie (Sis) Clark of Atlanta, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
