Obituary of William Citterbart

William Citterbart Jr., age 91, passed away on August 30, 2017.  He was born in Bayside, New York on July 23, 1926, the son of the late William Citterbart Sr. and Margaret Radl Citterbart.  He married Jean Evers on October 21, 1951 and resided in Bayside, New York until moving to Melville in 1964 where he has lived since.

Bill was the founder of Cherry Lane Lithographing Corp and Skyview Direct Mail, printing and mailing companies that at one time employed more than 150 people.  Bill was devoted to his business, working full time until age 85.  He was a longtime member of the Huntington Country Club and enjoyed world travel with his wife and friends.

Bill is survived by his daughter Jo-Ann and her husband Nicholas Rakovic of East Setauket, his son William III and his wife Barbara of Cold Spring Harbor, his granddaughters Bonnie and her husband Andrew Lieu of Pennington, New Jersey and Kerri and her husband Eric Martin of Lawrenceville, New Jersey and by three great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 4, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Tuesday, September 5, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 10:30 am at United Methodist Church, 180 West Neck Road, Huntington with interment immediately following at Melville Cemetery, 490 Sweet Hollow Road, Melville.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at www.curealz.org.
