Obituary of Mark C. Clayton

Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mark Charles Clayton, 60, of Huntington, NY passed away on March 25th, 2024, after a long battle with ALS.  Mark grew up in Rhode Island, where he loved to fish with his Papa, who called him Red, and be with his loving family and lots of cousins at the beach.  His family moved to Long Island in 1979, where Mark graduated from Hofstra University in 1988 and went on to build his painting contracting business 'Harbor Paint & Powerwash' which he ran with his wife Heather.  Mark was a family man in the truest of ways; everything revolved around his loving wife and their two amazing daughters; Hadley and Caelan, and Zuzu (family dog). We were blessed with his friendly demeanor, generosity, incredible sense of humor and kindness.

Mark was predeceased by Joseph and Florence DeSanto, Stuart and Sue Clayton, Charles L. Clayton (father), and Tahoe (dog).  He is survived by Patricia Leff (mother), Scott Clayton, Melissa Clayton, his beloved wife Heather, Hadley Clayton, and Caelan Clayton.  The family will have a celebration of life in honor of Mark at a later date. Please consider donating to ALS United - Greater NY at als-ny.org.
