Lawrence James “Larry” Scola

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence James “Larry” Scola, who passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026 at the age of 63.

Born on July 30, 1962, in Huntington, NY, Larry was the beloved son of the late Louis A. & Lois I. Scola. He was known for his kind heart, especially when it came to the children in his life.  

As a young man, Larry enjoyed playing soccer. He remained an avid sports fan throughout his life and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams while enjoying a game with family and friends. Bowling was another passion of his, and he treasured the friendships and memories he made on the lanes over the years.

Larry is survived by his siblings and their spouses. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, as well as his great-niece, and great-nephews, all of whom brought him great joy.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at M. A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave, Huntington Station. A Final Prayer Service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 45 Huntington Rd, Cold Spring Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Larry’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Larry will be remembered with love whenever his family and friends watch his favorite sports teams- the Mets, Giants, Knicks and Rangers-head to the bowling alley, or hear one of the memorable lines he loved to recite from his favorite movies and television shows. Blessed with an incredible memory, Larry leaves behind countless cherished moments and will be deeply missed
