Vincent J Gatti Obituary
With sorrow, we announce the passing of our much loved father, Vincent J. Gatti, 95 of Estero Florida. May 9, 2026.
We are grateful that our father lived a long and wonderful life. He was a man with many talents and always strived to be his best. Whether it was competing with his older brothers as a child, professionally, singing, dancing, as a solider, or simply doing home repair—he always set out to do, and be the best at all that he did.
Vince loved to dance, play cards, (and in younger years) play baseball, and bowl, but mostly he loved being with family. Vince believed in the importance of communicating, and treating everyone as an individual.
Born the 4th of 7 children on April 10, 1931 to Anna (née LaRussa) and John Gatti in Brooklyn, NY. Vince was predeceased by his brothers; Frank, Leonard, Louis, Mario, and John.
In 1948, Vince worked in NYC at Inter-chemical Corporation and sang in cabarets, and clubs at night. After 2 years of service in the US Army, he returned from Korea in November of 1953 with an honorable discharge, and 2 Bronze Service Stars. Vince went on to work as an Ink Chemist and continued training with the Broadway Theater Guild. He met Helen Mileto at a USO dance in Brooklyn, they married in October 1957 and settled in the Bronx.
In addition to his work in the lab and entertaining, Vince also made cabinets and took on various craft jobs as he enjoyed working with his hands. He was accepted by the American Theater Wing where he successfully continued his stage and voice training until he gave up the stage to be home when his daughter was born in 1958. After the birth of his son in 1962, he was selected for an international printing school to study Lithography. Combined with his years in the Lab he became an industry leader in Lithography—this became the industry that would define his career as he went on to help reinvent process, and quality control in the printing industry.
In 1966, the family moved to Huntington on Long Island where Vince worked at Shorewood Printing and Packaging in Farmingdale for many years.
Helen and Vince enjoyed ballroom dancing—and could stop a room when they took the floor. They were active members of St. Hughs Church, enjoyed their bowling league, and were Marriage Encounter leaders. They enjoyed traveling and many happy years together before Vince was abruptly widowed in 1983.
God blessed Vince again when he found love a second time with Frances Ann Sacco (née Sciolto), they married in 1987 and settled in Massapequa, NY. Shortly after Vince went to work for the Nassau AHRC, a return to working with his hands where he enjoyed directing and mentoring a crew of men where he shared his knowledge and skills.
As original owners of the Country Creek community in Estero Florida, Fran and Vince were Snowbirds for many years before becoming permanent Florida residents in 2019. They enjoyed family times, their grandchildren, dancing, tennis, golf, travel, and so much more as they spent over 40 years together.
Vince is survived by his wife Frances Ann Gatti. Children: AnnaMaria Gatti (Tim Denesopolis), Vincent Gatti Jr. (April). Step-daughters: Jennifer Willett, Pamela Sacco, Christa Sacco (Liz Whittington). Grandchildren: Luke Gatti, Paul Gatti (Haley), Carson Willett, Parker Willett. Sister Celia Coy. And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Vincent's name to: The American Cancer Society
