In Loving Memory of Errol W. Johnson

February 25th, 1942 – May 2nd, 2026

Errol W. Johnson, a lifelong New Yorker and well-loved resident of Huntington Station, passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2026, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Sondra M. Johnson, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage filled with love. He was also the devoted son of Edna (née Cumming) and George Johnson and brother of Ronald L. Johnson.

Raised in the Bronx and Queens, Errol graduated from St. Pascal Baylon High School in St. Albans and attended Pace College (now Pace University). A proud Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-60) and, from 1964 to 1968, was deployed throughout the Mediterranean Sea as a radarman. He then became a systems analyst for several companies in the New York metropolitan area before retiring in 2009.

Throughout his life, Errol was known for his unwavering dedication to his family. No wedding or graduation of any of his descendants was too far to attend. He passionately enjoyed jazz and Latin music, followed New York baseball, basketball, and football, and continually learned more about the world through the news and politics.​

His happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family. Errol is dearly loved by his close-knit family, who will always cherish his warmth and chivalry. He is survived by his three children, Kim, David, and Lauren; his nieces, Donnetta and Karen; his nephew, Raymond; six great-nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of meeting him. His legacy lives on not only through his family but also through the lives he touched over the years with his care and generosity.
