Marilyn Erickson Obituary
In Loving Memory of Marilyn Erickson
(formerly Marilyn Herrmann)
Marilyn Erickson, a longtime resident of Melville, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.
Marilyn moved to Melville in 1941 with her parents and her sister, Caroline. Her parents, Conrad and Rose Herrmann, opened a small restaurant on Route 110 at a time when the road was a single-lane blacktop road. As the area grew and the state widened the road, the family relocated the restaurant to the opposite corner, where they expanded into a larger establishment. It was called Rosie & Conrad’s (Cooney’s) Luncheonette.
One of the family’s restaurant locations still stands today and is now home to Aiko Asian Bistro.
It’s a lasting reminder of the Herrmann family’s hard work and enduring presence in the Melville community.
Marilyn held many fond memories of growing up in Melville and being part of her family’s business.
She graduated from Huntington High School in 1951. A year later, she married Ernest Erickson of Northport. Together, they built a loving home and raised four children: Ernest, Rosemary, Jody Ann, and Todd.
Marilyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to carry forward her love, strength, and family traditions.
She will always be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to family, and the special moments she shared with those she loved.
We will always remember Mom & Dad doing the jitterbug. They were famous for that!
