Viviani, John J. Jr., 94, of Melville, NY, and East Northport, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a trusted presence in his community for many decades. As a lifelong optometrist, he dedicated his career to caring for others through his practice, Dr. Viviani’s Total Vision Care, where he became known not only for his skill, but for his warmth, patience, and genuine compassion. 

He was the beloved husband of Eleanor Viviani, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage filled with love. Together they built a family that was the center of his life. John is cherished by his three children, John, Douglas, and Laraine (Robert), and his five grandchildren, Danielle, Kristine, Victoria, Angelica, and Leo. His happiest moments were those spent with his family-whether out on the boat, on the slopes, or exploring new places together around the world. 

Throughout his life, John was known for his steady kindness, gentle humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on not only through his family, but through the countless lives he touched over the years with his care and generosity.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
