Dad, it has been over a month since you passed away. It truly is incredible how many lives you touched. I miss you every single day. I think of the great life that we lived together, all of the memories, the constant jokes, the words of wisdom, etc. Now I picture you in heaven holding Baby Joseph surrounded by Grandma Eileen, Grandpa George, Grandma Marie, Grandpa Rich, Uncle Joe, Aunt Susan Uncle Stevie, Dave Monaco, Wess, Richie Barathy, the Murphys, and the whole Quinn- Nolan- Kane Family. It puts a smile on my face and brings tears to my eyes. You were truly one of a kind. Larger than life and humble at heart. I wish God had given us more time with you, but it was your time to be at peace. I know we will all be together one day. I still hear your voice in head giving me guidance with everything I do. Love you forever,
Richie/Pal/Bubba Head/Irish Toe-Head/Dr. Phil

George, your optimism and love of life were an inspiration. You once said, “When my feet hit the ground in the morning, I’m a happy man.” Richard (Big Rich) and I loved your quote and used it so often.
You loved Westhampton, especially Roger’s Beach and I’m so grateful for all of the great times we had there. We all loved its beauty, simplicity and spending time with each other. When young Richard arrived, you would set up the beach chairs and then build the best”happy town” for him . it was the envy of all the other kids on the beach. After the beach we would “chill” on the deck , maybe go for dinner on Main Street (the Post Stop and Margaritaville were favorites). You so loved that kind of day .
I remember last Father’s Day after coming back from the beach, you were sitting on the deck, looking so relaxed and said this was how you loved to celebrate your day. We loved celebrating with you.
I wish God had given you more years with us. But have left us a wonderful legacy - your son Richard. You and Dina have raised such a remarkable and caring person , who is a a living testament to your values and character.
George, thank you for all the joy you gave us.
Miss you and Bye for now,
With love,
Ginny

George
I guess it was only fitting that we grew up only 5 houses apart on Bowden Drive after all your mom and my dad grew up a few blocks apart in Brooklyn going to Holy Name Church on Sundays.
I actually can’t remember a time when we weren’t friends or for that matter a time when we ever spoke in anger. You were such a big part of my life throughout my life. While we were in middle school and then high school, I met Jimmy, Mike and Gerry through you. We were “the hole in the wall gang” as you yourself named along with Jimmy being “Bear.” We all remained close friends for 60 years. Attending all our weddings and our kids’ baptisms, birthdays, weddings you name it. Back yard barbecues were laugh fests over all the things we did but couldn’t mention in front of our children. We all grew up together and helped each other go through life; aging parents, teenage kids, illnesses, and now the loss of one of us.
We all know its inevitable that this great friendship on earth must end but it doesn’t make it any easier having to live through it.
I love you and will miss you like the brother you were.

I remember the day I met George. He was training the Outlaws soccer team to “beef them up”. I was sitting watching Gavin train and he said to me why don’t you get off your butt and train with your son? That began our friendship! I always loved training and hearing the famous Georgeisms. Can-a-corn was a family favourite. George was the most generous and thoughtful friend I have ever had. Our whole family loved him. We had some great barbecues with Dina , Marie, and Richard at Hans and Sharima’s especially the pig roasts. There’s a big hole in the universe and in my heart with him gone! I loved him like a brother.

George was a remarkable man — a caring and beloved brother- in-law and uncle to me and my family. His optimism and can-do spirit lifted everyone around him, and he faced life with humor, kindness and positivity that inspired all those who knew him. Long live "happy town". He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, George.

When I remember my cousin Georgie, I think about family. Our families—Kane, Quinn, Nolan, and Munch— filled his parents’ house in Huntington Station, feasted on his father’s food, swam in the backyard pool, and ended the night singing “Good Night Eileen” to his mother. Then after he met Dina, there was the epic wedding and more family, including Richie. A family gathering at Gargiulos in Coney Island, Christmas parties at Ken and Nancy’s, weddings, and a 50th anniversary in Maryland with the Kanes, and with the Nolans at Shelter Island were all highlights. Dina, Richie and Georgie were always there, smiling. Georgie was a family man; and he and Dina raised Richie as a family man. Condolences to all of Georgie’s family. We all lost a good man, far too soon.
