Theodore Robert Sheron Jr, passed away on February 19th, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Ted was the devoted husband of 46 years to the love of his life, Rosalind (Spatafora) Sheron. From the very first moment he met Rosalind, 53 years ago, she had his heart. He was hitching a ride to the beach, and ended up stuffed in the backseat with her and all four of her sisters. From that instant on, he knew that she was his person, his partner, and the great love of his life. Their marriage was built on deep affection, respect, and truly an unwavering devotion to each other and to the family they built. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, generosity, and unconditional love and support.
Ted was a proud and loving father to Theodore III and his wife Katherine, Charles and his wife Erica, Alicia and her husband Thomas, and Michael and his wife Paola. He also shared a deep, father- like bond with his nephew, Russell Spatafora. He was a cherished grandfather to Elizabeth, Charles, Teddy, and Henry, who brought him immense joy and pride. He was predeceased by his sister Karen Standley and is survived by his sister, Kathy Strom, and her husband Richard, along with many nieces and nephews.
Ted lived a full and beautiful life, defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for others. He was a devoted husband, a guiding father, a joyful grandfather, and a loyal friend. He also had a rare gift for making people feel safe and welcomed. To many of his children’s friends, he was a steady presence and a second father. Always ready with an open door, a place to stay, a listening ear, and honest guidance whenever it was needed.
Ted had a lifelong love of history, learning, and reading, and believed deeply in curiosity and personal growth. Family meant everything to him. He often said that life is an adventure and encouraged those around him to “just keep plucking away at it.” Ted believed that if you had the opportunity to take a step forward in life, you should bring everyone along with you. He strongly believed in building community and in supporting those who needed it, in whichever ways he could.
Through his example, he taught his children to be self-sufficient, to work hard for what they wanted, and to believe in their own strength and capabilities. He showed them that they were capable, resilient, and able to accomplish anything they put their minds to. Above all, Ted believed in doing the right thing. Always. And he lived that belief every day of his life.
Ted was full of love, full of life, and deeply committed to his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave so freely, and the countless lives he touched. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
A Note from the Family
We are endlessly grateful for the love, support, and kindness shown to our family during this difficult time. Our father meant so much to so many, and it brings us comfort to know how deeply he was loved in return.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to organizations that reflect his values of service, compassion, and care for others: Tunnel to Towers Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Disabled American Veterans, or Wounded Warrior Project.
