Robert Edward Tellefsen, age 78, of Huntington Station, New York passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the VNS Hospice House in East Northport, New York. Bob fought 5 different cancers these past 7 years.
Born in Glen Cove, NY, Bob attended Huntington School District. He was drafted in 1966 in the Army and served in South Korea as Military Police and stationed at the DMZ. Stateside he was stationed in Savannah, Georgia until his discharge September 1968.
Bob was a proud volunteer firefighter for 45 years in both Huntington Manor Fire Dept and Huntington Fire Dept. He was a member of the Harbor Boating Club for 30 years. He loved boating even as a young boy. Bob was a lifetime member of the VFW. Later in his life, Bob took up golfing. He joined the VA PGA HOPE team and loved every minute on the links (He made a hole in one in 2013).
Bob is survived by his wife, Eileen (married for over 55 years) and his beloved daughter, Anne Savarese and his son in law, Wyatt Savarese and his two adored granddaughters, Abigail and Amelia, also his brother David’s sons: Scott and Jason Tellefsen.
Bob will be remembered as a true friend to so many. He made friends and kept his friends close throughout his life. He was an adventurous, hard working man, not afraid to tackle any task, enjoyed wood working, boating, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and his friends. He will be missed by many.
