Marge B Froehlich Obituary

Marge Froehlich passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Just a few days prior, she had celebrated her 89th birthday. Born on January 1, 1937, in the small town of Simpson, Louisiana, she was the 5th of 10 children of William and Amy (Jackson) Bennett.

Marge met her husband while working at Fort Polk Army Base in Louisiana. They later married and eventually made their home on Long Island, New York, where they lived for many years and built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and deep devotion. After 39 years of marriage, Peter passed away. Marge later married Joe Benci, a wonderfully kind man who shared Marge’s green thumb. Following Joe’s passing, Marge shared over 14 wonderful years with her partner Vic Kucelin; according to her, they never had one argument.

Those who knew Marge remember her as a caring, loving, and beautiful soul—someone who consistently put the needs of others before her own. She had a remarkable gift for comforting those around her, offering kindness and steadiness in every season of life. Her gentle spirit and generous heart left an imprint on everyone she met. Despite the many hardships Marge faced throughout her life, she was never made bitter by adversity. Her experiences only expanded her empathy for others, and this empathy was the key to her unshakeable resilience.

Above all, Marge cherished her family. They were the center of her world, and she poured her love into every moment spent with them. Her legacy lives on in the countless ways she nurtured, supported, and uplifted those she held dear.  She was preceded in death by her three loving partners, Peter, Joe, and Vic; as well as by all nine of her siblings.

Marge is survived by her three children: Peter Froehlich and his wife, Chrissie; Jean Gillman and her husband Larry; and Daniel Froehlich and his partner Theresa; as well as her seven grandchildren; Kristen, Jennifer, Gina, Kimberly, Alexandra, Daniel and Peter; and her great grandson, Nathan.
