Lynn Needelman Obituary

Needelman, Gwenda Lynn, "Lynn," 78 years old, of Huntington Bay, passed away on November 28, 2025, due to complications of multiple sclerosis. Lynn was a wonderful wife of 58 years to William "Bill". She was a loving and devoted mother to Dawn and Brian (Daisy). She adored her grandchildren, Olivia and Zachary. She was a big sister to Allan and the late Gordon and Phillip Watts. She was aunt to three nieces and two nephews. Getting a college degree was important to Lynn and she proudly graduated Summa Cum Laude from Adelphi University with a degree in Communications. With compassion and grace, for 18 years Lynn led Long Island Cares as its Executive Director. She poured herself into her work, helping thousands of families living with food insecurity. Her contributions to the Long Island community were celebrated with numerous honors, including twice being named among the Top 50 Women on Long Island. Lynn loved time with her family, her work, her colleagues, and a delicious piece of chocolate cake. Lynn's laugh was infectious. She will be loved and missed by many. Visitation to be held on Thursday, December 4, 2-4 and 7-9PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Lynn will be laid to rest in her hometown with her mother and father, at Norfolk Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.
