Andrew Vavoules Jr.
July 30, 1957 - October 13, 2025
Andy was born in Manhattan, NY spending his first few years of life there with his mother Connie, father Andrew and his brother Harry. They moved from the city when Andy was 3 years old, to the town of Melville, the place he would call home for the rest of his life.
In his youth he celebrated great achievements in baseball and soccer. He took pride in his no-hitter as a pitcher with Half Hollow Hills High School and his All-County honors as a star striker for the Half Hollow Hills Suffolk County Champs of 1975.
Andy married his high school sweetheart, Debra in 1981 and they had two boys, Jeffrey and Scott. His love for his family was the most important thing in the world to him and he never left their side. He learned this lesson early on in life from his mother Connie, whom he held so close to his heart.
He spent much of his adult life working at his brother Harry's company, Radcliffe Funding as a mortgage salesman. He loved his brother dearly and was grateful to be with him so often.
In his free time he was part of many great softball teams in Huntington with his brother, cousins and friends, one of which went on to win a Softball National Title in 1998. He was honored to be part of those teams and had fond memories with them.
He loved taking his kids to sporting events and went to many concerts with his wife. Andy and Debbie spent summers soaking up the sun at the local beaches of Robert Moses and Centerport and enjoyed spending winter vacations in Florida with Debbie's parents in Boynton Beach.
Through life Andy showed resilience in the face of adversity and never gave up. His family is proud of the fight he put up against an undefeated opponent and he'll always be remembered for his relentless will.
Andy Vavoules passed away peacefully at his home with his family on October 13, 2025. He is survived by his wife Debra and their two sons, Jeffrey and Scott.
Andy was beloved by his family and friends, and he cherished the time he had with all of them. He will be deeply missed.
