Suzan Ruth Brill Obituary

Suzan Ruth Brill, 74, passed away on October 3rd, surrounded by the love of her family.

Suzan is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, John. Together, they built a beautiful life in the Huntington area, where they raised their family and created countless memories. She was the loving mother of two daughters – Kimberly Suzan Suth of North Palm Beach, FL (and her husband, Richard) and Alison Ferguson of Huntington Station (and her husband, Jordan). Suzan was also the proud grandmother of five adoring grandchildren – Nicholas John Ferguson (and his wife Leah), Kyle Ferguson, John Richard Suth, Lauren Suzan Suth, and Alexander Suth.

Above all else, Suzan loved her family. She was an adored wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for each of them and cherished her role as the proud matriarch. There was nothing that brought her more joy than being surrounded by those she loved.

Suzan was a beautiful woman inside and out who lived a full, active life. She had a passion for travel and enjoyed many adventures with John to Europe, Australia, the Caribbean islands – with St. Martin being her favorite – and the Bahamas. For 25 years, they spent summers on their boat at the Montauk Yacht Club, where Montauk became a second home filled with sunshine and laughter. It was there that Suzan met some of her dearest friends, forming a close-knit community that became like a second family. She loved the people she met there and treasured the deep, lasting friendships built over shared sunsets, lively conversations, and joyful summer days.

In later years, she especially enjoyed wintering in Jupiter, FL, where she embraced the warm weather and the beach she loved so much.

Suzan also formed lasting friendships during her 25+ years living in Cold Spring Hills. The neighbors and friends she met there became an important and cherished part of her life. Their companionship, shared memories, and support brought her great comfort, laughter, and joy throughout the years.

Suzan had a deep love for music, especially The Rolling Stones. She delighted in going to concerts, dancing, and sharing her joy of music with others. Her fun-loving spirit and great sense of humor made her a joy to be around, and she treasured her many friendships, often enjoying nights out filled with conversation, laughter, and good food.

Outside of her family life, Suzan found fulfillment in her career at North Shore Medical Group in Huntington, where she worked for 30 years before retiring. She cherished her work and the wonderful people she met along the way.

Suzan will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, her laughter, and the way she lit up every room she entered. She lived a life rich with love, friendship, and adventure, and she leaves behind a legacy of joy and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Her spirit, like her favorite music, will continue to play on – timeless, unforgettable, and full of life.
