Kevin M Scharkopf Obituary

In Loving Memory of Kevin Michael Scharkopf

April 15, 1975 – September 2, 2025

Kevin Michael Scharkopf, 50, of Huntington, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his beloved sons, Luke and Maxwell. A devoted father, brother, son, and friend, Kevin lived a beautiful life grounded in passion, adventure, and connection.

Born on April 15, 1975, to Dorothy Carroll and the late Brian Scharkopf, Kevin was a man of the sea and of the hands. An avid sailor, scuba diver, and skilled carpenter, he found peace on the water, and joy in creating with his own two hands. His beloved boat, Sea Glass, was more than a vessel — it was a reflection of his spirit: adventurous and resilient.

Kevin’s greatest pride and joy were his sons, Luke and Maxwell. He loved them deeply and unconditionally, and his presence in their lives was a steady anchor — full of love, strength, and laughter. He was the cherished brother of the late Brian Scharkopf Jr., Matt (Natalie) Scharkopf of Huntington, Teddy (Kelly) Scharkopf of Houston, Chris (Ginger) Scharkopf of Jupiter, and Erin McClasky of Bluffton, and a beloved uncle to his niece and nephews, who will always remember his playfulness, warmth, and easy laugh.

Kevin’s life was marked by authenticity. He was someone who made you feel at ease the moment you met him — grounded, loyal, and endlessly generous. Whether he was telling a story, working on a project, or navigating the open water, Kevin brought a rare depth of presence and passion to everything he did.

He leaves behind not only his sons, siblings, and extended family, but also a wide circle of friends who will forever hold him close in memory and in heart.

Kevin, your journey was vast and deep. May you sail calm waters, always.
