Stephen DeMartino Obituary

Stephen R. DeMartino "Poppy", passed away peacefully at home on August 30th, 2025. Poppy was blessed with a loveley family who lived near him in Huntington Station and Northport. He resided in Halesite since 1967 and loved his family , neighbors, friends, and the pastors, parishoners, and staff at Our Lady Queen of Martyr's Church in Centerport. Poppy will be remembered as a loving Grandfather, Father, Husband, an Elder at his Parish, a mentor, a coach, a marketing executive and consultant, and a proud United States Marine.


Steve was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia (nee Jarvis). He met Patricia at Rider University, Westminster Choir College in Lawrenceville, NJ, in 1961. They were married for 50 years. His partner, Elaine Feldis, attended Baldwin High School, class of 1958. Steve and Elaine enjoyed the summers on Long Island and some of the winter months at Steve's family home in Jupiter Florida. He is survived by his son Michael (Lisa), his daughter Lauralea (Jay), his five grandchildren; Heather (Olvin), Stephanie, Katherine, Jaime, and Loralei, and his partner Elaine Feldis.


Visitation will be held Wednesday, At M.A Connell Funeral Home, from 4 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, at Our Lady Queen of Martyr's Church, at 10 AM.
