Nancy Glennan Barry, 88 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 29th, 2025. Born to Elizabeth Murray Glennan and Robert P. Glennan in Flushing, New York in 1937, she moved with her family to and was raised in Syosset, NY. She graduated from St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay and went on to graduate from The College of New Rochelle.

Nancy taught French at Syosset High School, where she met her future husband Ronald Barry. They were married in 1961, and had four children together, who they raised in Bay Hills, Huntington, NY. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother, and her family gained much from her intelligence, her love of history and family, and her sharp wit. For many years she worked at the Huntington Public Library and she also volunteered with the Huntington Historical Society. Nancy enjoyed her monthly book club and yoga class, and she was a faithful parishioner at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Huntington, NY. 

Nancy was predeceased by her husband Ronald. She is survived by her four children Christopher (Alice), Anne (Paul), Katherine (Joe), and Susan (Matthew) and her nine grandchildren Diana, Emily, Madeleine, Matthew, Colin, Rachel, Molly, William and Declan.
