In Loving Memory of Ann Greco Meyer
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Ann Greco Meyer, who departed this life on July 28, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on September 8, 1934 in Hollis, Queens, Ann was the beloved daughter of Elmer F. Dieckman and Florence (Healy) Dieckman and the devoted sister of Elmer (Bud) F. Dieckman Jr. She was a cherished wife, a proud mother, and a deeply loving grandmother whose presence left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Ann graduated from Mary Louis Academy in Hollis before attending The Teachers College at Cortland, where she discovered her lifelong calling in education—and met her soulmate, Donald V. Greco of Syracuse, NY. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and shared purpose. Ann went on to dedicate 25 years to teaching elementary students in the Cold Spring Harbor School District, alongside Don as the Cold Spring Harbor Gym Teacher and Athletic Director. Ann retired from teaching in 1999 after a meaningful and impactful career. After Don’s passing, Ann found companionship and love again, marrying Edward Meyer, with whom she shared 15 meaningful years until his death in 2000.
Ann’s life was defined by quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and the joy she found in everyday moments—whether gathered around the table with family or sharing stories with lifelong friends. She approached the world with warmth and grace, and her nurturing spirit will be missed beyond measure.
She is survived by her loving children, Laurie (James) Maloney, Pam (Richard) Hargrave, and Daniel Greco; and by her treasured grandchildren, Lyndsay Hargrave, R.J. Hargrave, Mackenzie Maloney, Shannon Maloney and Nicholas Greco.
Ann’s memory will live on in the lives she touched, the love she gave so freely, and the countless moments made brighter by her presence. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, Huntington, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 4 at 9:45 AM at Church of St. Patrick, Main Street, Huntington, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Ann Greco Meyer to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
