Actor, Playwright, Beloved Aunt

Jeanne Carberry Brady, a gifted actor, accomplished playwright, painter and cherished aunt, passed away peacefully on May 9^th, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn in 1927 and was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology. She lived in New York City, Poughkeepsie, and for the past decade in Huntington. Jeanne lived a rich and purposeful life dedicated to her family, her faith, the arts and the care for animals.

Jeanne’s unique intelligence and creative spirit found its home in the arts, and in her interactions with people. Her career as an actor and playwright was marked by emotional depth and wit. It was a special treat for Jeanne, at age 97, and for all of us, to attend a staged reading of her play “16 Gramercy Park” at The Players’ Club in New York.

Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband, Barney Brady, her sister Alice (Carberry) Romanelli, brother Dr. James Carberry, and her parents James and Alice Carberry. Her warmth, humor, and deep faith made her a treasured presence in the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family, who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.
