Obituary of Mary K. McKell

McKell, Mary, K., 88, of Huntington Station, passed away on May 1, 2025. Beloved wife of the late David. Loving mother of David, Anne Barrett (Mark), Margaret Bayley (David), Deirdre Nardelli (Adam), Susan Vaughan (Luke) and Timothy. Cherished grandmother of Brendan, John, Colin, Ryan, David, Joseph, Adam III, Nicole, Lindsay, Luke, Joseph, Madison and Michael and great-grandmother of Abel and David. Dear sister-in-law of Geraldine Godfrey. She is loved and will be missed by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mary worked for 20 years at Suffolk County Department of Social Services, Democratic Committee for Suffolk County, Member of Ancient Order of Hibernians, St Hugh of Lincoln parishioner, catechist and volunteer, a graduate of Convent of the Sacred Heart on 91st St. in Manhattan, Class of 1954 and graduate of Newton College Class of 1958. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station. Funeral Mass Friday 9:30 AM at St. Hugh of Lincoln Church, Huntington Station. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to: Good Shepherd Hospice www.catholichealthli.org/good-shepherd-hospice or St. Hugh’s Parish Outreach www.sthugh.org in Mary’s name would be greatly appreciated by the family.
