Chris was a great guy, Always full of Positive energy and enthusiasm . He was one of my great pool friends and would always play with me at this cue club membership we have. Always welcoming and great convos, Gobless him and his family. :(

Of the memories I have of Chris, it is tough to find one that doesn’t make me laugh. There is little in this life that I appreciate more than an unexpected joke or laugh or smile. He was the generous type. Once, ambling around Montpellier, France, passing time until meeting my brother Martin, we quietly realized that neither of us knew what we wanted to do, how we would do it, or how even we would communicate well enough to make it happen. So, instead, we walked and we talked and we do that thing people do when they’re just being observant, mindful and silly. Not all stories have an obvious arc and clear moral. On this day, we simply ended up at a restaurant, ordered several dishes of Indian food in anticipation of providing my brother lunch when he arrived, then promptly (mostly me) ate just about everything in front of us, finishing right around the time Martin arrived. At least, for a time, we were satiated. Thank you for the meal, Chris. You continue to gift me a great deal to think about.

So many memories, of high school trivia club, Mathletes, and Mathcounts, of discussing math problems, which he was always ahead of me at, but always eager to discuss the methods, of hanging out with Justin and jamming, making little silly songs. I'm so stunned that he's no longer with us, and so appreciative for being able to spend time with him. May his memory be a blessing.

I’m so sorry to hear about Chris’s passing. Chris was one of the first peer role models I can remember. When I met him as a 7th grader, I was so impressed by everything about him, from his math brain to his innate musical talent, compassion, and creativity - and always with the same self-deprecating sense of humor and humility. He saw the absurdities of the world even at that age, and could articulate them in such a hilarious way that I think everyone around him found endearing. As a kid who didn’t always fit in, having so many things in common with Chris and seeing his successes was so important to me because I saw my own potential in him - he made want to be a better, more interesting person, and I know he must have had the same effect on so many others around him.
