Smith, Clarence John, 96, of Huntington, passed away on March 31st, 2025. Beloved father of Richard (Suzanne), Maryellen Matarazzo (Carmine), Thomas (Susan), Kathy Slinkard (Jesse), William (Debra), Robert, and the late Michael. Loving grandfather of Stacey (Sean), Lisa (Roberto), Nicole, Lindsey (Trevor), Daniel (Syndi), Gabrielle (Brian), Shannon (Jesse), Katelin, Westley (Victoria), Kelly, and Jesse Jr. Adoring great grandfather of Gianna, Skylar, Teagan, Rowan, Alana, Everleigh, Jameson, Madelyn, Ava, Cole, and Rosalie. Dear brother of Marjorie Wissman, and the late William and Robert. Clarence was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country in World War II, and in the Korean War. Following his service he worked for Cold Spring Harbor High School as a Custodial Engineer, and proudly served as a member of Huntington Fire Department for over 50 years. Clarence was dedicated to his children, grand children, great grandchildren, his country and his community, and is loved and will be missed. Visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at M.A. Connell Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Monday, 9:45 AM, at St. Patrick’s Church, Huntington. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
