Gunning, Marie L., 92, of Melville, passed away on March 5, 2025. Loved by all who knew her. Authentic, strong and always well dressed. Loved travel, her friends, Jeopardy and most of all cherished her large and spirited family. Beloved wife of the late Gerald D. Loving mother of Michael K. (Maryann), Kerry Stauber (Stuart), Gerald J., Marie J. Gunning (Michael Murphy) and Patrica E. Cherished grandmother of Zachary (Jordan), Rachel (Garrett), Danielle, Mallory (Stefano), Jordana (Jason), Kelly, Colleen, Kevin, Caroline, Anna, MaryKate, Christopher and great-grandmother of Benjamin, Charlotte, Mackenzie and Kylie. Dear sister of James Pecquex, Jr., Kathryn Mischke and predeceased by Patricia and Francis. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station. Funeral Mass Tuesday, 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Melville. Interment to follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury.
