Thomas Luke Conneely

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Luke Conneely,  who left us peacefully on February 25th, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born in Brooklyn, NY  September 16, 1946 to James and Mary Conneely.  Brother to Mary (Monahan), Margaret (Curtin),  John and Jimmy.

In 1970, he married the love of his life, Eileen Marie Conway, and together they built a beautiful family who eventually settled in Dix Hills, NY. He was a devoted father to Christopher, Gregory (Courtney), Peter (Deirdre), and Brian (Kerry). His legacy continues through his 15 adoring grandchildren, who will always remember their grandpa’s warm embrace and endless stories. He was the kind of father and grandfather that never missed a game, performance, or event.

For 35 years, Tom, was an agent for Allstate Insurance. After a long career, Tom spent over 18 years in retirement, where he and Eileen spent their time traveling, sailing, volunteering, and attending NY Mets games. However, he was always happiest at home with his wife, family, and friends. His devotion to his wife Eileen was unwavering through almost 55 years of marriage and was noticeable to all who met him. Tom had a deep passion for sailing and in his younger years Skiing.

He was always at the source of laughter at many social events.  . He was the type of man who showed his family how to live a good and decent life not by his words, but by his actions.  He was active as a volunteer for numerous organizations such as St. Anthony’s High School, Adaptive Sports Foundation, Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years at his longtime parish, St. Elizabeth’s of Hungary.

A wake will be held on March 3rd at M.A. Connell Funeral Home in Huntington Station, NY. Visitation will be from 1:00  to 3:00pm  and from 6:00 pm to  8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Of Hungary Church in Melville, NY on Match 4th  at 10::30 am. Memorial donations can be made to Adaptive Sports Foundation in Windham, NY, .
