There are very few in this town who haven't been touched by the kindness of Peter Connell, He knew us all, knew our families knew our history, judged no one and treated everyone with dignity and respect. Peter was an angel who walked among us. In the darkest days of my life he was there knowing just the right thing to and do and how to help this grieving family. Peter I'm sure you went right to the arms of God. You will missed. And Im also sure Auntie D'Orson was waiting for you with a ginger ale she loved you so.

Prayers for the family of Peter He was a beautiful person who graced all He knew.My mom Mary Moore who passed two years ago in PA spoke fondly of the family and knew them all as kids and her dad John Sexton and Peters dad spent much time together in Halesite NY when they would sit together and visit at the Sexton home.Peter and this beautiful family took care of many of my mom's family over the years.Prayers for this beautiful family in the loss of Peter who was a true example of the kindness and compassion of Christ as He walked through rough areas of life with many.His reward and crown in Heaven must be great.God's blessings to the Connells.

Peter and I graduated from St. Dominic's H.S. in 1952. We will be celebrating our 65th class reunion on June 11th 2017. You can be assured that Peter will be remembered fondly on that occasion. Peter had a phenomenal memory. He could remember dates, names, who was related to whom, the date of someones death and burial. He had a wealth of information stored in his brain. Peter loved Fran and always said what a lucky fellow he was to have married such a great person. Peter enjoyed his many trips with his son Charlie. They shared the same interest of liking antique cars. Peter was kind and generous to so many. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to all the Connell family. Rest in Peace Peter.

Pete and I were high school buddies at St. Dominic and kept in touch over the years at the funerals of my family and friends. He signed my yearbook as "the last friend to let you down". I was hoping to see Pete at our upcoming high school reunion, but I am sure there will be many sad discussions of fond memories instead. My sincere condolences to the all the Connell family

It is sad to hear of Peter's passing. As a Huntington native, I have known Peter my entire life. In fact, Peter's grandmother, Margaret Connell, was my father's godmother in 1882. Our family history and the Connell family history goes back to the "brickyard days." Peter will be missed; he was so much a part of the Huntington community. So sorry to hear,my condolences to the Connell family.Some of my childhood just passed away as every time I would see "Mr Connell " we would talk baseball and the Mets.We went to games with him all the time at Shea and on hot evenings he would come over to take a swim in the pool . Pete and his father knew my father "Shorty". Whenever I went to pay respects of someone who passed he always talked with me and talked about my father fondly. I am not stranger to Peter Connell. My mother passed in 1964, I was 11 years old. In 1990 my dad passed away. I now was 39 years old. In making arrangements for my dad I walked in to Connell's without a phone call or appointment. Peter Connell greeted me and called me by name. I hadn't been in Connells or seen Peter Connell from 1964 till 1990, but somehow he remembered me. Peter made me feel very special and loved. God bless Peter

Pete Connell has been a part of the Huntington community, for many, many years, serving many, many families. Pete Connell was there for the Drexel and Wujick families for over 60 years. Our great grandfather, grand aunts and uncle, grandparents, parents, and many of our aunts and uncles had their wakes/funerals at Connell’s. Our mother, Jacqueline Wujick Drexel, who passed away last January, was Pete’s babysitter! Pete was there for us when our father, J. Roger Drexel, passed in the late 1980's.
